Hi, I downgraded from vista to xp

wasn't sure if the sound was stuttering when I had vista but right now in xp, the sound stutters when i change the volume up or down

this happens on the volume keys on the keyboard and in the master volume control in windows

is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Is it actually a big problem (continual stuttering) or just something slightly annoying that goes away after the volume adjusts?

just slightly annoying, goes away after the volume adjusts

it just takes forever to get from low to high volume and vice versa with all the stuttering

like does it stutter even when you're not playing any music or videos?

I actually did a clean install from that link above

although i might have installed the video driver first instead of the chipset driver.. but i don't think that would matter.. would it?

It does. It's recommended that the chipset driver is installed first since it is a priority driver.

I play a movie on my brother machine, the sound is detorted any time I turn it up to 60%-70%, I think something is loose cause the vibration, not the speaker its selt. the window is vista ultimate. I used the same player soft ware on my XP and I like it, The sound and the video. I like XP more than Vista.

Trust me if you don't install your drivers in this order: chipset>matrix storage manager>raid/ahci driver>acpi power management driver>video driver>monitor driver>audio driver>modem driver>UAA and restart after each and every driver install. You will have problems, it took me two clean installs to realize this.

So true. I tested out my clean install guide six times before it was perfect. If anyone is performing an XP clean install, I highly recommend using my guide. I provide complete instructions so you have all the drivers. :D

    figured out the problem!

basically i forgot to install the raid/ahci software manager
...didn't realize there was a driver and software manager!

i found out by installing another windows os on another partition by
    following Arkit3kt's guide :D

I still don't quite understand how the matrix storage manager affects the volume slider since everything else seemed to run at a "normal" speed

everything seems to load faster now with software manager though :D

    thanks for the comments
