I bought one off eBay and it was sealed in the original Lenovo box. It works perfect and looks and acts like a genuine. Power Manager also reports it as working (if it was not genuine it would usually pop up and tell me). The only thing weird about the design of this battery compared to my 9-cell is the latch you move to take the battery out. On the 7-cell it looks a lot nice and higher-tech then the one on the 9-cell. Also on the 7-cell, there is 4 little circles behind the battery that look weird but also looks like that's the way it was designed.
The product is brand new and was never opened. Anyone with 7-cell batteries know what I am talking about for the T61/T400?

Also: What power plans are you using me when you give me estimates. If you have a 6 cell or 9 cell share estimates as well.

using custom power settings for a 9 cell on a T400, Power Manager says I can get about 5 1/2 hours with dedicated and 7 with integrated. the CPU clock is set to adaptive and brightness is on the lowest settings. I've heard of people that can get more time, so I'm curious as well.

7 cell sounds odd ball.
Post a link to where you bought it. -
