If it'll work with the T60 then it will work with the T61.

im considbering getting one for my T61 14" im wondering by how much this will boost the life, mine is usually plugged in but when im mobile id like to be without my AC adapter and have some confidence, and i dont really want to change the form factor with the larger main batteries.

I have the ultrabay battery for a T61p

    FRU P/N 41U4890
    ASM P/N 40Y6787
    NOM 10.8V 2.7AH

On my t61p it adds a between 60-90 minutes, depending on settings. You can use it to hot swap the main battery with a spare as well. The only problem is that the ultrabay battery will run down to zero before the system cuts over to the main battery. This kills the battery life, so you need to manually watch the meter and be sure to pull the ultrabay out when it gets around 10% remianing to avoid shortening the life span prematurely.

I use a USB stick for file transfer so the extra battery life is far more useful to me than a DVD that sits idle 98% of the time.
