Does anyone have a definitive answer on that? What is the brightness of the T61 WXGA+ screen? I've heard 200 nits and 220 nits from various sources.

Its bright enough for me...nuff said.

Really the problem is that 99% of people around do not even know what a nit is. Can you tell me the difference of 20nits?

not to mention a lot of panels have some give in them either way so none are EXACTLY what they say. (Multiple Monitor users out there know what I am talking about...two exact same models will not always have the same brightness.)

    ^LOL

I just thought it was funny because coolhandluke provided a link to the official website which clearly states the official specs, showing that both LG-Phillips and Samsung WXGA+ screens are 220 nit and then suddenly Juan Alligator comes along and says WXGA+ screens are 200 nit. Pretty embarrassing IMO.

Yup, and contributing to more rumours in which we can do nothing but know a thread will be made in a few hours titled "Lenovo Sucks and their QA SUCKS...Only a 200nit WXGA+ Screen!!!"

Some people around here need to lay off the caffine and energy drinks :p

Syx, I think you can use software like Everest ( http://www.lavalys.com/) to tell you that and much more.

Do you like your screen, brightness and viewing angles wise?

it's not the greatest, but it's probably the best 14.1" screen i've seen
most of them are pretty bad
i upgraded from an Asus A8Jm. it had a 512mb 7600 in it.
a great alround 14", but it's no thinkpad in terms of quality, and the screen SUCKED
i guess you could say i'm pretty pleased.
    and it's matte. I can't stand glossy!

    Thanks, Syx.

I think the D630 screen is actually pretty damn good. I keep trying to compare those two and can't decide on which to pick.
