Good day all, I have a quick question regarding the WiFi Signal being switched on and off. When I use my laptop, the WiFi is always turned on (the switch on the front of the laptop is always in the "on" position). Sometimes, after I shut it down and restart, the WiFi signal is off, but yet the switch is still in the "on" position. I would go into the wireless connectivity options, and it says that there is no routers in my area, even though my switch on the front of the computer is "on". I have to manually go into the Thinkvantage and manually turn the WiFi to "on", because it says it's off. Is that normal for the computer to do that ?? This only happens if I do a shut down. If I put it into sleep, (and remain in my home where my wireless router is) it automatically senses the signal upon wake-up.
Any advise would be great. I'm guessing it's normal for the computer to shut the signal off when it's completely shut down, but lets hear what you guys think.

No everyone here is a guy.

It's not normal. Check you power management plan for the wireless card.
    Also your profile for autoconnect.

My Wireless card is "11 a/b/g LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter ". It's the Intel card. Any help on this would be great ! I also have found out that, if I do a complete shut down, and move the computer to an area where there is no routers, and I go and manually turn the Wireless radio on, it stays on for about 4 seconds, then shuts itself off. However, when I'm connected at my home router, it stays connected, and never disconnects. This probelms is very strange, my guess is it shuts the wireless radio signal off itself if it senses there's no wireless singinal within range ?? Like I said before, the WiFi switch on the front of the computer (T61) is always in the "on" position, it's just whenever I shut it down, and restart the computer, I most of the time have to go back into the "Thinkvanatage" and turn the wireless radio option from Off back to ON, even though I never switched it off in the first place.

Any ideas about how to make it always stay "On" would be great !!

if that doesnt work, there is also an option in: access connections --> 'location profile' --> select the profile you want --> general settings --> 'disable this wireless radio when switching to a different location'
