Are there any pictures of a t61 14" WS with a 9-cell and how much bigger is the 9-cell vs 6 cell
Thanks

Does the 9-cell stick out much more than the 6-cell

It sticks out about half an inch or so

My 6 cell battery,(model # 41u3198) is 2.57" in total depth and sticks out exactly 1" from the back of my t61 Widescreen. That makes sense because the 4 cell, (model # 41u3196) is listed as 1.57" depth and fits flush. I've not seen the new 9 cell, but if you look up the dimensions, the 9 cell, (model # 43r2499), is listed as 3.04" depth. Assuming the published depth is correct, and you do the math, the new 9 cell for the 14" Widescreen should stick an additional .47" more than the 6 cell, for a total case bump out of 1.47".
Also, the 9 cell is listed as 1.14 lbs weight as opposed to .77 lbs for the 6 cell. -
Do you have the nvidia graphics card? I'm planning on getting it with the nvidia graphics, but am not sure if the 6 cell would last 3+ hours. Also, about how much does it weight with a 6-cell. I currently have a 15.4 dell and it weights about 6.3 pounds with a 6-cell, but if I get a t61 w/ 9-cell, I am guessing it will be about as heavy as my 15.4 inch

my t61 14.1" widescreen does have the nvida card and a 6 cell. 3 hours is a stretch, I think it might get it with optimum power settings, but I seem to avg about 2.5 hours using areo, wireless and audio. I ordered a 7 cell last week, (i wanted a second battery anyway) and will be disappointed if doesn't last 3 hours.
my old laptop was also a dell 15.4", but with a 9 cell. It was heavy. the t61 with a 6 cell feels like air in compairsome. I think even with a 9 cell, a t61 will still be much lighter. Lenovo says 5 lbs with a 4 cell, and if the 9 cell is .65 lbs heaver than a 4 cell, it should total ~5.65 lbs.
The reason I didn't get the 9 cell was more the depth, not the weight. My dell was ~10.5" total depth and a t61 with a 9 cell would be almost 11", and that will just not fit in my favorite bag.
