    I just picked up a T61 from the outlet and plan to upgrade to 4Gb of memory. Anyone had any problems with heat spreaders on memory fitting in the slots of the T61?

    Thanks;

    (bump)

    So I take this as no one's had any problems?

    Can anyone confirm they've been able to install SODIMMS with heat spreaders in a T61, particularly the Geil?

    thanks

    Heat spreaders always tend to be an issue with the tight fitting DIMM slots on most laptop chassis's. It is a safe bet to go without the heat spreaders. The SODIMMs don't generate enough heat that it is really a necessity to have the heat spreaders.

    Hey,

    I've been using 2x2GB w/heat spreaders from geil for a little over 3 weeks now, no issues with memtest and everything has been running great :D

    Are you having any issues running the 4gb ram? as I see your running the 32 bit OS.
