Hi Guys. I need your help.

What is the main difference between T61 and T61p mother board?

In fact, my choices are T61 14 inch widescreen with discrete graphics and T61p 15 inch widescreen Mobile Workstation with discrete graphics-

    Any preference?

    Thanks for your feed-back.

T61P refers to the 14" and 15.4" models that have the Nvidia discrete graphics. The T61 have Intel graphics.

However, it's confusing because on the website, if you use contract pricing or SPP pricing you can sometimes select a T61, then choose Nvidia graphics, but what you end up getting is actually a T61P even though you selected T61. Make sense?

So the difference is, T61 has a motherboard with built-in Intel graphics, T61P has a motherboard with Nvidia graphics GPU. The GPU is soldered to the motherboad in both cases, it is not something you can change.

The T61P has 2 flavors, 14" and 15.4", the 15.4" has twice as much video RAM (256MB vs. 128MB) and also is a faster GPU.

The GPU on the 15.4" T61P is a Quadro FX 570M which is not made for gaming but has actually scored quite well on gaming benchmarks, scoring faster than the 8600M GT.

You said that to me once too and I didn't argue but I'm going to speak up now. I don't know where you're from, but where I'm from, the term "guys" is often used to address a mixed-gender group of people, not only guys.

I have even heard girls say "hey guys" to a group of only girls.

So I don't think this is something you need to correct people on, unless you want to correct every common slang out there.

I would get the 15 inch anyday as well with discrete graphics.

i would go for the 14in..i like a smaller notebook..not something big and clunky. I don't do any gaming, so I went for intergrated graphics..which increases battery life significantly

I agree with eyecon82 IF you aren't a gamer and you don't do 3D graphics stiuff.

One thing I would add though: a lot of people who bought the 15.4" with Nvidia graphics have been reporting issues with crashing. You can avoid all this if you get the 14" with Intel graphics.
