    :D I got my T61(7662CTO 14" Vista Ultimate) this morning. :D
Ordered 5/30, originally estimated to ship 6/22, but
actually shipped 6/14, and received 6/18.
I really like the build quality, and solid feel.
This is my first [personal] notebook computer even though I've purchased
about 10 notebooks(HP, Toshiba, Dell) for work. And I must say Thinkpad is
absolutely the best laptop. I just love it.
So for those who ordered but not received, keep up the hope! It's worth waithing for.
    Thanks.
Oh also, I removed the Norton that came in, and downloaded trial v. of NOD32.

    ordered 05/22, still waiting

lenovo said most delayed order will be fulfilled by 06/26, although my estimate shipping date is 08/03, that make it even worse. because I check my email box every morning with hope, but all i got so far is disappointment.

I would rather have an accurate further shipping date than a closer hope.

Well let me know how you find NOD32 on your system. I had bought and downloaded a copy and installed it on my T60 with XP, it had a lot of problems. I re did it several times and ran into the same issues. Anyway I ended up going back to the corporate symantec that comes with the system, but that was my experience. I'd be really curious to know how yours does. Just save a backup of your system once Symantec has been removed before putting NOD32 on so at least that long process won't have to be repeated regardless of what you choose for antivirus in the end.

other than that, enjoy the T61. I love my T60, gets a little warm on my lap more than my wife's T42 but not unbearable. I'm sure the T61 runs very cool.

Are you sure the Symantec has been removed completely?
Incomplete removal will cause problems with a new Anti-Virus.

Oh guys, I'm very sorry but I believe you will get yours pretty quick.
Syxbit, of course I didn't remove the protective plastic on camera...and planning
to leave it on as long as I can.
About Nod32, first I removed the Norton from control pannel and this removed the automatic update program as well. And I went to Norton website to download Norton Removal Tool and run that tool just to make sure. Finally, I went to NOS32 site to download the trial version of it and
    installed it.
I can see the NOS32 icon on my tray and I also can see from the Start>All Program button. I believe I removed all the Norton thing, even thogh I thought Norton Antivirus would not be removed this easy.

And about Norton Coporate version, I hate that v. I have had that thing on
a server(running MAS90 program) at work, I never liked it and didn't touch
that thing. Hopefully you can find a way to remove it...

    Thanks a lot everyone. :D

My hate is stronger then yours, johnny_1987, since you gave me a negative rep for what you think is a flawed hexidecimal to text conversion even though there is a hidden meaning in it. But anyways i forgive you ;)

BTW congrats on your T61 Crolee. Hope it serves you well.

NOD32 runs beautifully on mine. xp + nvidia. I uninstalled symantec etc before installing NOD32 (kind of a given, but in case anyone asks, heh)

Well I actually had taken it a step further when I would remove symantec and even went through the registry as according to:
    http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_to_fully_remove_norton_from_pc.html

I mean I thought I completely wiped it off the face of the earth (at least my T60). Then would install my NOD32, I had skipped the trial and just bought it outright. Not sure why it would always crash on me, the hard drive would just keep going and system would get whacked out if I do something as simple as hit the right click button.

Curious though, WHY did you not like Symantec Corporate edition? I still have a few months until I would have to pay for it so I'd love to know.

Well, obviously there is something going on.
Uninstal NOD32 then check your system again for any remaining symantec files.
It's extremely difficult to get rid of it competely. That's one of the reasons why so many hate it so much.

I think I may even try using base software administrator and do a factory restore without symantec on it, that way it was never installed in the first place. Then I'll try to install NOD32 (and spend 3 hours installing all the other software then, but at least that may make sure symantec is completely gone).

But I have to ask, aside from how difficult it is to remove symantec or norton from one's computer, as an antivirus program and firewall, what is it about Symantec Corporate Edition that people hate? (I don't mean Norton Antivirus now, specifically this Symantec Corporate Edition program that comes preinstalled on the Thinkpad)? Does it miss viruses? Does it hog too much memory and CPU usage? Does it's firewall cause problems?

Anyway, sorry, I know this is someone else's thread on their T61. But I suppose it's useful for people to know before their T61's arrive whether to keep or trash certain software. (For exanple Access connections for one is something that caused a lot of problems, after removing it things are great.)
