    Hello folks!

For several months now, my T61 9-cell battery has been stuck at 89% capacity.

I read and carefully executed all suggestions in the Battery Guide, including one full week of STRICT by-the-minute charge to 100%, work until discharge to 20% then turn off and full charge + one weekend work until discharge to 5%, then turned the machine off and charged overnight.

During that whole week I believe I made a total of 8 cycles - noting only so you do not get the impression I am torturing the battery without actual use of the machine.

No matter what I tried, the capacity is literally stuck at 89%. Could anyone help me with an idea how to regain the lost 11% capacity of my battery pack?

    Cheers :D

I haven't read the Battery Guide, but when this happens to my (office) Panasonic CF-73, I disconnect it from power and remove the battery, then let it sit overnight. Next morning - it recognizes the correct charge state. Sorry if you have already tried this - good luck...

Try the "Perform Reset" function in Power Manager Battery Maintenance. It will charge the battery up to full, drain to empty and then recharge the battery to full. It will take a long time but you can leave the mains plugged in while your ThinkPad does its thing.

Almost sounds like you have some strange custom charging thresholds in the thinkvantage power software.

My T61p and R61 have the same applicatioin built in. Just click on your battery icon and it should kick in the application.
