    Hi,

I really want to buy a 14" T61 with the nVidia Quadro card. I have a few questions:

    1) There are a bunch of battery options. I want the largest capacity battery which does not stick out. I don't want a battery that will make my laptop less compact. So which one to get?

2.1) I saw the standard 14" version in a store and was a bit disappointed with the display - the vertical viewing angle seemed really bad to me at first glance. I want ask the owners - is it really that bad? Is it bothering? And how does the 1440x900 resolution fit the 14" screen and Windows Vista with ClearType? I like the high resolution but I'm not sure if it isn't too high for a 14" display.

2.2) Is it annoying that the display itself is not centered in the cage, but is offset to the right a bit?

    3) How is the nVidia Quadro performing? I'm not a big gamer, but I'd like to have a solid graphics card on board. ThinkPads have never been up-to-date with graphics hardware, so I'm just curious how the Quadro performs.

Thank you very much in advance!

    1) That would be the four cell. The other two stick out. The modular battery is an option if you need more time.

2.1) Most laptop viewing angles are not that great. It's not like a desktop CRT/LCD. If you want better viewing angles get the 15" T60 with the IPS screen. Screens are really a personal preference. You should check some out if you can.

2.2) Again it's probably a personal preference. If you are the kind of person that this would bother you, it probably will. It has no effect on display quality or performance.

    3) ThinkPads are made for work so the fact they don't have the best gaming cards makes sense. The GL cards are quite up to date in terms of the kinds of cards you'll find on other similar notebooks, but they're not tweaked to pump pixels. The 140m is roughly equivalent to the 7600 go making it a decent mid level card.
