I went to turn on my T61 today and there was no signal coming from the LCD. Everything else appeared to turn on fine. The row of status LCDs under the LCD was also not working, EXCEPT the wi-fi LCD which did light up. When I press Fn+F7 (to switch between internal and external display), my LCD just flashes black and then goes back to being turned off.

Does anyone know what's causing this? I'm not sure if my LCD is broken because the row of lights under it also does not seem to work.

EDIT: I tried an external monitor and my T61 works fine with it. So it seems like something is wrong with the internal LCD or the connector. Any ideas on which parts may be the culprit?

Could be an inverter issue (ThinkPad LED's are on the inverter). You can also get the entire LCD top portion for cheap (I got my T60 top portion with SXGA+ screen for 60 shipped on Ebay).

Maybe the lcd cable came loose? Power off, battery out, then remove the palmrest and keyboard and check the LCD cable connector.
