Or is everyone getting vista pretty much?
-
DONT GET VISTA YET!!!i had vista and changed back after about a week. alot of programs and games still dont work either fully or at all.Divx for example fcuks up your gui and it changes back to the crappy aero theme.also a large amount ogf games dont work.especially game sover 2 yr old.newer games also such as scarface, battlefield 2,FM 2007,Company of Heroes, sim city 4 etc....wait for another 6 months until a decent SP1 has been put together.

I can't comment on game compatibility (cause I don't play them on my laptop), but I have not come across any applications that don't work with Vista. Some applications temporarily change the theme from glass to 'aero' while the application is running, but when you close that app, it'll revery back to glass. I've had Vista on mine for over a week and despite pushing the laptop hard, I've yet to see any Vista issues.

I am running Windows classic theme on Vista. I can care less about the pretty interface.
Some of the my old games couldn't install under Vista. No biggie, I should have stopped playing them years ago. -
Will go with Vista someday in the future. Microsoft is supporting XP until 2015. Looking back I didn't ever jump into any of the OS's when they first came out. I certainly don't regret waiting on the sidelines for awhile. I believe Vista has a ways to go to become my first choice in business and at home.

I got XP. I'll enjoy it fine when my T61 gets back from the repair shop.
-
I got it with vista because I didn't have a choice of XP at the time, but I'm gonna install it when I get the computer.
-
When I get my T61 I'm just gonna go ahead and use Vista, since they say Vista scales dpi better then xp and I'm gonna need it with my WSXGA+ screen.
If I start having problems, I'm just going to use Ubuntu and VM xp or something.
I also think its kinda funny to have Vista gaming complaints on the Lenovo forums -
I've noticed that all of them at costcentral, pcconnection, euclid etc have vista. Kind of surprised me that retailers weren't carrying an xp option, and I started thinking I'd be in the severe minority in having ordered xp.
About half and half here so far. -
Where did you get this? -
They are gonna stop selling them in retail channels in 08 I think. -
Mine come with Vista, but since I got a copy of XP, might install them when i got the time

You must get vista to get intel turbo memory.
-
Plus Vista has much better laptop support than XP.
-
Went Vista. Gotta accept it sometime, and the sooner the better.
-
i was thinking that xp is better right now so thats what i got... but now that im just about to recive my laptop i wish i had gotten vista so that i would have a copy of it then just install xp untill vista has come out with at least service pack 1. then there will definitly be alot more compatability for it. oh well ill live.. i dont really like the new interface so far neway...

You are going to have to move to Vista sooner or later. Might as well do it now with your new laptop, so you wont have to pay for an upgrade later on down the road.

Well, I have T60. I ordered my laptop with Vista, and then installed my old copy of XP on it. Sooner or later, we have to accept Vista. So I want a copy of Vista for the future.
T61 buyers- anyone stick with xp?
