    Received a Thinkpad T61 last week and I have had nothing but problems the entire way. My intel 4965AGN wireless wasn't recognized, Nvidia Quadro FX 570M wasn't recognized, and my Media Flash Card Reader doesn't work. I have tried ti fix the problems and I got the Intel wifi to be recognized but still doesn't work and got my Nvidia 570 to actually work and my Media Flash Card Reader is still a mystery.

    I have also been having many problems with Vista (Business 32-bit), every time I download a program I get several error messages telling me it can't be completed. I tried to get updates form Vista and Lenovo but after my 10 Lenovo updates failed to load and only 1 of 64 updates from vista be loaded I decided to give up and whip out the Rescue and Recovery discs that Lenovo shipped with the T61. I put the first disc in and follow the directions, I get to the "take 1st disc out and power off system" prompt right when I go to click ok I get a C++ error prompt that I wasn't able to read. So I keep going through the rest of the Recovery System and I get to "insert disc 3 into drive" which I do and it just keeps saying that it isn't the right disc so now I'm at yet another road block and is now my current issue.

    Recap of my problems....that I know of
    - nvidia Quadro FX 570M (fixed)
    - Intel 4965AGN Wireless
    - Media Flash Card Reader
    - Fingerprint Reader, Does not work consistently at Vista login. (I get "please attach fingerprint reader" prompt)
    - Vista Program errors (files missing prompts)
    - Vista and Lenovo Updates failures
    - Rescue and Recovery Failure

    Yep. I have a 3 year warranty on it, so I am thinking of calling up Lenovo and sending it in but I don't know how fast they are at fixing their laptops and i need it back before the end of September.

    Does Lenovo have any local US authorized service centers?? (one reason I was thinking of getting another HP from Circuit City is because they are authorized to fix HP products under factory warrenty and will do it for free if you buy from them)

    Just tried to do the Recovery again and i got that C++ error again it says:

    Debug Assertion Failed!

    Program X:\i386\system32\oemwinpe.exe
    File:fopen.c
    Line:54
    Expression:*file!=_T('\0')

    For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the visual C++ documentation on asserts.
