Hi. I have a ThinkPad T60p, which gets really hot during CPU/GPU intensive stuff like Minecraft, even when running the fan in disengaged mode. I also have a defective T60, where the cooling assembly (actually, the whole board) seems quite similar to the T60p. Will it fit, and is it any better than the original part?

The TPD of the Core Duo and Core 2 Duo seems to be 31 and 35 watts, and the 945 chipset also seems to be less power hungry than the 965, so in theory it should be better.

I believe that you meant to say that you own a defective T61. Presumably with discrete graphics...

If that's the case, the heatsink/fan assembly should be plug & play in your T60p, and yes, these fans have been reported to run well on T60/p units.

    Good luck.
