My T61 has died on me (specs as sig). It will turn on and the power light comes on with the fan whirring but no screen or hdd activity. I have tried changing ram and hdd with no avail..

Any ideas before I go ahead and order a T400 replacement?

Maybe your just having screen problems but the machince is actually working. Did you try to connect it to an external monitor and see what happens?

I have tried an external monitor aswell with no joy, the machine is over 3 years old now so out of warranty by about 3 months.

The T61 only went on sale in May of 2007, how could it be three years old?

If you want to continue using the dock, I'd suggest the T400.
