    I've just got a new t61 :)

It seems that when on battery and with the brightness is set to maximum the screen is noticeably darker then when using ac.

Has anyone come across this before?

There is a setting in the BIOS under the display section that enables high brightness in battery mode.

Drains your battery much faster, however if you use full brightness while not plugged in. The "dim" while on battery is a deliberate feature.

Yeah i supposed that was the case, however it's a bit misleading to show the same brightness levels on the different power options which actually results in a visual difference.

I use my notebook around the house so an AC outlet is never far away and with ibm's notorious reputation for dim displays, i want it as bright as i can get it :)
