I have a T61 that I'm working on that recently stopped automatically turning on the external monitor when the laptop is docked back into the docking station. The only way to get the monitor to display is to go into Presentation Director and do it. I tried using the NVIDIA control panel to setup a profile, but can't find how to make the laptop use that profile when docking.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes. Try the monitor on another system to make sure that it works the way you think, first.

I've switched the monitor and docking station and still have the same issue. I tried another laptop in the docking station and it worked fine for it. I think there is some setting that got messed up on the original laptop, but I can't find where to correct it at.

Let me know if you've found an answer, I have the same problem. If the computer is on and I dock - the external monitor doesn't kick in. I have to shut down and restart for the external monitor to kick in.

    I have a T61
    2.5Ghz
    3 GB
    Nvidia Quadro 140M

I did install a new HDD and installed WinXP. I'm current on all updates. The only Thinkvantage components I've installed are the following:

    1. Active Protection System
    2. Productivity Center
    3. System Update

    Cheers.
