    Hi,
I posted on a couple of the brand forum the same thing, but wanted to get the opion on the T61. I am looking for a laptop to take with me on trips and use for photographic purposes. Basically for review, and if I could get away with some editing, I would be even happier. Obviously since laptops are not the best for this, I plan to review and output on my desktop ips monitor. Anyway, just wanted to get the opinion of those who use this model of the lcd quality. People have recommened the model for build quality, but I've also heard negative remarks on the display, while other suggest it since it is a matte screen as opppose to a glossy. I've been also looking at the XPS1530 by dell, and possible the Dell Latitude D630. There's also the Sony and Fujitsu (Sp?) that I've been reommended to look into as well. Basically my budget is around 1300 which i think I could make it with the T61, and since it is not really a necessity but more of a convenience I would prefer not to go higher. Any suggestions or remarks on this model would be greatly appreciated. Tx!

If you want superior LCD then go for Sony notebooks.IBM is not famous for LCD but sony is.of course if it is your main consideration.
the build quality of thinkpads are like.no.other
The quality of dell LCDs have been the worst of all.

If I was you I would go out and look at different laptops at your local computer store (that has laptops on display) so you can see for yourself what kind of screen you prefer.

I just got my T61p and there is nothing wrong with this display at all. That could be because its the LG though.

The T61 screen is good. It's not the best screen. I have the Samsung which is reportedly not as good as the LG, but it looks nice to me.

Much better than that Dell XPX M1530 Samsung screen of the same resolution (WSXGA+).
