Is this normal? After I updated my NVIDIA driver, the notebook rebooted and I saw that some processes were taking too long to start up (antivirus application (avira) was taking 5 mins+ to start).

I did a hard reboot and the pc started normally.

Then I did windows updates and the same thing happened. After hard reboot all seems normal again.

    Is this normal for T61's?

Did you update your nVidia driver through windows updates? If so, that's a no no. It is usually recommended that you do not do any hardware updates through Windows Updates. I still have a 60MB file waiting to be downloaded in Windows Updates and I have not touched it. It's the November driver I think. I used this link (T61 widescreen XPP) for my driver: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67924

    And it works perfect.

My T61 never froze at bootup but I guess if your pc is running fine now, there should be nothing to worry about.
