My Fujitsu S6231 is giving me trouble and I am thinking of replacing with a T61 Core 2 Duo T7300(2.00GHz) 14.1" Wide XGA 1GB DDR2 667 100GB 7200rpm DVD/CD-RW Combo Intel GMA X3100 XP pro model # 7659-01U
Newegg has on special at $899.I intend on adding more memory.
Any thoughts on this wifi ? Intel 802.11agn(n-disabled) or overall
configuration for a business notebook that receives lots of use.
I have owned a few Thinkpads before and found them to be solid and reliable.
I believe Newegg has a good rep as a seller........thanks

Hard to go wrong. Newegg is good also for delivery, price, and service. Do a quick check, though, with Lenovo.com for a price comparison. Sometimes Lenovo has a few big discounts in play.

Newegg is well very well known electronics reseller. The computer you're looking at is very good for $899. I compared it to a CPP-coded T61 on the Lenovo website and it comes out to $80+ more. Good choice. Also buy an additional 1GB RAM from them also.

Newegg is excellent, cannot go wrong with them.
As for the machine, I think it's ok but maybe a little overpriced. You should be able to do better with the current Lenovo promotions on their website (discounts, coupons, Fatwallet, and paypal) and get a DVDRW too.
Also consider this R61i from Circuit City.

Many of us have picked it up for $750 in local stores, and you can still stack a $200 mail in rebate from Lenovo, bringing the total price to ~$600 after tax! Rebate ends 12/31/07, but here it is:

I own the T61 but I bought the above R61i for my brother and I think it's a great machine, even before the rebate. 2G RAM, 160G HD, DVDRWPerformance is excellent after a clean Vista install.

It might be a refurb!!

Thanks for the information.
I pulled the trigger on the 7659-01U from Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834146363
I was checking on the specs on the item description and noted the warranty was not mentioned but after checking in the Sticky Tabook reference
at the top of this forum it appears to have a 3 year warranty.
Am I correct?
Is that an international warranty? -
My guess is that the warranty is not international. It's hard to tell from the tabook. You can call Lenovo and find out for sure. The nice thing about the T61 is it has XP Pro which runs better in my experience. Congrats on the machine.
