I just received my new t61. Overall everything has been great but it seems as though im having a couple problems. Every so often at seemingly random times the computer freezes up. The boot and shut down times seem to be long as well. I am running vista home and only have a gig of ram in the computer now as another one is on the way. Will the extra gig solve these problems?

I know I probably seem to be pushy at times about a clean install, but after a clean install there is usually a night and day difference with this is the sort of thing.

Please clcik on the link in my sig for the clean install guide. Also, make sure to read the F.A.Q. at the bottom of that guide which provides some suggestions for RAM as well. You should at least read it and then decide for yourself.

The extra mem should help if your apps seem to be hanging a bit. YOu could also try bumping up the virtual mem temporarily. Takes a lot of effort to reinstall the OS and have all the drivers available.
