Is the keyboard on T60 same as T61 in every way, or is the size different? I compared the pictures and they appear to be the same on what is on the buttons, but the size is hard to tell.

Didn't Andrew say in the review they were the same? Perhaps I heard it elsewhere.

I recently received a t60 and I like my keyboard, but was interested in who made it and...found out it is an alps that is for the t61. These seem to be recent new fru's given out because it has a different fru than what is on your thinkpad faq ZaZ. Here is the link.

    http://www.ip-web.de/ThinkPad/hmm/hmm_T61_61_42x3547.pdf

Do a search in the pdf for your fru. For US English, mine (42T3209) was on page 153 and is the Alps. The Chicony is 42T3273, and the NMB is 42T3143.

It seems like it won't be a big deal because I like my keyboard but since these are the keyboards for the t61 and r61 I wouldn't be too pleased if this is a smaller keyboard, but like I said, I still like it.

Anyone know if there are any differences between the t61 keyboards and the t60?

    Alarudy,
Does that mean to share keyboard between T60 and T61?
That case, I will order old T60 keyboard for my new T61.
Also,I noticed T60 is used 220nit LCD not 200 nit.
    Thanks for valuable link.

Nan Na, it seems they're giving t61 keyboards to t60 but I'm not sure it will work the other way around, also I'm not sure we have a choice in what keyboard we get.

I read quite a few reviews and the keyboard section of these reviews say that T61 has the "feel" of T60 keyboard or something along that line but it does not mention that they are identical.

Yeah the keyboards on the t60 and t61 are probably the same, however, on the t61 the speakers are on the side due to the extra width of the widescreen wheras on the t60 they are on the front panel, I wonder if its just the extra width of the widescreen that allowed speakers on the side or if they also made the keyboard smaller. I don't know why they'd use a t61 product on a t60, or maybe they just change the frus every so often.

Does Andrew, Zaz, or anyone else know for sure whether they are identical or not?
