    T61 lack of SATA II 3.0 GB/s support?

    Why can't Lenovo just release a BIOS update to fix this..? Talk about advertising something and not doing it.. Any ideas..?

    as it stands, not a single person has been able to prove that unlocking 3.0 Gbps capability would make an appreciable change in real-world use.   synthetic benchmarks -- especially those designed for hard drives and not SSDs -- do not provide an accurate picture of an SSDs true capabilities on SATA-enabled systems.

    in the real world, a quick SSD will run just as quickly on a T61 as it would a T500, barring any differences in processor speeds.

    buy a fast SSD and be happy with it.   agonizing over such trivial issues is unnecessary. ;)
