    T61 model 8892-ou2 can`t get the wireless to work .

    This is my wifes PC .She was having trouble connecting to our wirelss set up .She has downloaded all kinds of crap from Limewire .The T61 was running very slow .So I disided to reinstall the operating system .

    I reinstalled the operating system from the recovery partition . I ran the system update from lenovo .I couldnt get the wirelss to turn on(switch is in the on position) .The bluetooth shows up but not the wifi .I down loaded the intell 82566 driver fo my system .Still no luck .Fo what ever reason I can`t get passed the first page of support on the lenovo web site .I keep getting a error message .Under device manager the system shows the LAN card .When using thinkvantage under wireless.I does not show a option to turn on the Wifi .

    Any suggestions ? Is the just the Wifi card done ?

    Try a Linux live disc to rule out software issues vs a defective card. Worst case is to buy another WLAN card...not very expensive but you must buy* a Lenovo one.

    Not sure what a Linux live disc is .But I will ask a couple of friends .

    As the T60s are done where do I get the WLAN card ? Is ebay a good start ?

    you can get the part from ebay, make sure to get the same part number and those one that is from lenovo t60/z61/r60/x60 machines.
