Pretty weird and ridiculous problem. I've got my T61 running with Windows XP SP2 (following all the steps in skint80's guide), and my notebook isn't recognizing the TrackPad every time I boot. Roughly 1/2 or 2/3 of the time I boot into XP (I have a dual-boot setup going), the mouse pointer simply won't respond to any touching of the trackpad. Friggin' ridiculous. I swipe my finger to log in, Windows loads, and the mouse even moves when I connect a USB device. After connecting a USB device, I go to Control Panel -> Mouse, and I see under the UltraNav tab that "Enable TouchPad" is unchecked and ghosted out.
Any ideas what might be causing this? It's driving me crazy. The mouse TouchPad works fine 100% of the time under Vista Ultimate and Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy.
Thanks!

Did you install the "critical" importance windows update for the touchpad? On my T60 there is one windows update that falls under the automatic install section that completely breaks touchpad support for some reason.

Actually, I have the same problem with a T60. Got a bunch of updates and my touchpad does not work. I look in bios and its not there either. So, how do I fix this?
