I am experiencing a problem when viewing videos from youtube.com and other flash based streaming videos. When I switch to full screen mode the picture, during fast transitions or movement, seems to "tear" or break in vertical lines as the picture changes. I think this effect is called screen tearing. It is not noticeable on my desktop or my gf's 8400gs based dell, so I figure it has to do with the driver or nvs 140m that is in my T61.

I have spent the past two days installing practically every driver version, both lenovo supported, windows update and laptopvideo2go.com, with no luck. Each driver varies in 3dmark performance but they all produce different levels of the "tearing" effect that is so annoying to me.

I have a t9300 processor, 3gigs of ram and I conduct these tests in windows vista home basic, while the system is plugged in and set to the max performance settings, which seems make no difference in playback.

I've become very exhausted installing and uninstalling all the different sets of drivers(each time I uninstall i follow the method from a previous thread , using a few different programs to ensure all the remnants of the nvidia drivers are removed), and am really desperate to find some answers to this problem.

Please let me know any suggestions or if you too are suffering from this playback performance issue. Thanks a lot for your help.

Use the monitor output on the side and run the video to a monitor, see if it still happens.

This has been reported here a couple of times with no solution in sight.
I also have this problem, and waiting patiently for a solution.
Have already sent a email to lenovo with no reply so far.
