    Hi

its my first post, so hi everyone.

Im in the process to order 30 laptops with the docking station for our employees.

My question is, if you compare the T61 to the tecra, which one would you suggest for business use?

i have seen/used both laptops, and for a long time, i prefer IBM laptops over toshibas. its a personal preference.

the specs i find it both similar.

is there any other things that anyone suggest regarding this matter?

    thanks

    hello,
    welcome to the forums!

in a professional business, i find that the thinkpads look well, more professional than the Tecras. plus thinkpads are THE industry standard. if the price difference isn't too much, i'd go for the thinkpads.

I just got an IBM switching from a Tecra (M5). While the Tecra was a capable machine, I much prefer my Lenovo. From a business perspective, one of the most important things you can have is service. And, unless you have external tech support, then the fact that IBM still services Lenovo laptops (at least in the US), should pretty much be all you need to hear. My service experience with IBM was simply outstanding. The Toshiba support was lackluster.

Just remember the old adage: "No one ever got fired for buying from IBM." That's true for a reason.

It is also an 'image' thing. Having thinkpads significantly boosts the companies image
