T61 ordered 8/12, shipped 8/15

My parts list is empty as well amitface, I wasn't even able to access it until a few hours ago.

 

Seems to me like they are slow on updating the databases. I thought it'd be an automated thing.

I'm going to sleep. The sooner I sleep, the sooner I wake up and the sooner I am to getting my computer

 

Same thing for me...i wasn't able to access it yesterday...kept saying not found..but today it did...they're just a little slow on updating the database..

btw braddd what Screen/ KB Combo are you getting?

No idea, my parts list is literally empty. I go to check the parts list and the page is there with my serial and laptop part number specificed, but the list says "no parts available" or something along those lines. Same thing happened to another guy last night and he was able to view his parts today.

I am getting the SXGA+ LCD so I think they are completely different manufacturers from samsung or LG. Supposedly they are the same screens they have been using for years in the SXGA+s.

 

oh..im getting the wsxga+..just the wide screen version...are you getting the 4:3?

My screen is an LG. It is MUCH better than the first one. Bummer that yours got rescheduled, though. Hopefully the wait is worth it.

 

That's awesome..you went from a crappy (hopefully lemon) samsung screen to a LG..without even specifying it...may I aask how much you paid for your notebook? I'm maybe thinking that I got stuck with samsung since I got a very good deal..thanks

My final price, including tax came out to about $1480.

 

From the looks of it, well..., I don't know what the heck is going on. The progression of each package does not contain the same steps, so it's hard to form an opinion.

Edit: What level of service do you have? Is it standard ground, expedited, or express? I ordered with standard but was upgraded to express.

 

Mine was Express. It shipped Wednesday and came today.

 

There is hope for an actual Monday arrival.

The 4:3 are toshiba and samsung I believe. I got a toshiba. The keyboard I got was an ALPS. Love the screen (1 dead pixel but whatareya gonna do?) love the keyboard, love the computer.

My T61 14.1" 4:3 finally shipped tonight! Aug 17. The only problem is that I'm leaving for college on the 22nd (wed). Do you think that I will receive it before then?

hows that toshiba screen? anything noticeably bad (besides the dead pixel)

I have the same TMD (Toshiba) screen and it looks great. Haven't found any dead pixel. No ripples on pressing (wonder if the same goes for braddd).

 

No ripples here. I think the screen looks great. The thing about the dead pixel is that I only see it when I run the dead pixel test at http://www.gdargaud.net/Hack/DeadPixels.html. I havn't seen it in normal use and I can't see it against black backgrounds, go figure. It might actually be a stuck pixel because I have seen it white, black, and redish

can you get EXACT measurements of the SCREEN only?
i plan to get a custom screen protector, and i need to know the measurements.
one set in inches, and another in centimeters just incase please.

Are you talking about 14.1"? Mine measures 11 1/4 " x 8.5", or 28.5 x 21.6 sqcm.
