This guide is for ADVANCED users - you should know what a driver is, and where to find it on the Lenovos website, so I won't post links to every driver specifically. The one that you may not find there is the UAA HD Audio driver, so google it, lol. Or try searching it on Lenovos site. Also, a newer version of the Intel drivers may be available on the Intels site rather than the Lenovos site.

all you will need from your hard drive is the i386 folder and the SWTOOLS folder, so don't loose those - like burn a DVD with them for example.

if you have XP installation CD, you may skip 1. and/or 2.

this guide installs only a minimum of the thinkvantage mess that comes with the laptop. Some you may skip from the guide (like the ultranav utility), or some you can add too (there's the magnifier driver for when you press FN+space but I don't like it; or the power manager that gives you the bettary icon on the system tray)

if you have the turbo memory, there's a driver at the Lenovos website that you'll need to install to properly disable that function under XP (it works for Vista only)

if you have other hardware such as webcamera or card reader, look for those drivers too on the Lenovos driver page (I don't have those)

give some reps if this helps you, as it took me 3 days (an year ago) to figure it out as you see it :D

    *********** G U I D E *********** by me :)

Note: Download all drivers needed first, then you can run them one by one so that they extract into the C:\DRIVERS folder to be ready for installation

Note: pay attention to where each driver installs in the C:\DRIVERS folder

Note: look for setup.exe when installing different drivers, unless otherwise specified

Note: every time when asked in Windows to automatically search and install drivers for "Found New Hardware", always click CANCEL !
