    Hi,
I have a T61 15inch with the 7200rpm 100gb HD. I do not know if this is an issue but, if I am watching a video on my laptop and I pick the laptop up and tilt it (IE turn it upside down or at a significant angle) the video lags and will slow so much it basically stops.
Is this a hard drive problem? or is this normal? I am assuming the data is being read of the hard disc and it might have trouble spinning at an abnormal angle.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

This is normal. There's an active protection system for your hard drive. If it senses any kind of vibration or movement, it will automatically park the hard drive head to prevent any damaage that can be done.

Double click on the circled icon to open the active protection settings. You can decrease its sensitivity or disable it all together.

The hard drive park really only affects you when you're watching a movie. I would keep it on high, but temporarily disable it when you're moving the laptop around.

Agreed. Also on video games as well. Pretty much anytime you hardrive is in high usage, slight movements can cause your PC to act 'jerky'.

Do people normally carry their notebooks around when watching a movie?

True, engadgetfans are hardcore! But actually I was in a car and it was placed at an awkward angle.
