This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    T61 repetitive disk access on XP after system update

    I did a Lenovo system update two days ago (BIOS, Chipset 6 update, i forget what else, etc) and ever since then the T61 does a disk access every second or two. It's driving me nuts. Is anyone else seeing this problem or how can I find out what is doing those disk accesses?
