For some reason, sometimes my T61p just resumes from standby a short while after I closed the lid (I set it to go to standby when I close the lid). As a result, sometimes I find this thing powered on when I am expecting it to be on standby. I am wondering if anyone has similar experiences and if there are solutions (and please don't tell me to just turn it off; I am not looking for this kind of answer). Thanks.

I have been having this exact problem, it only seems to happen to me when its plugged in, I'm expirementing if i remove my wireless mouse if that might be causing it, but so far no real conclusions.

I have my laptop plugged in most of the time without the battery. Maybe that's causing it to resume by itself, although it's weird that this should happen.

It used to happen to me if I moved/clicked the mouse or press a key on the external keyboard accidentally. Turns out by default in the Device Manager, those devices had an option "Enable this device to wake up this computer" turned on. Turned those off and it hasn't happened since.

Vista? My desktop would turn itself back on minutes, even, from the time it went into hibernate. After a while that stopped, for no apparent reason (without any input from me) ....
