Hi, My T61's screen is broken. Does anyone know if this is covered under warranty? Also, if I wanna replace the screen myself, does anyone know the procedures?

Its fairly easy to do. Once you pop off the bezel, its just a matter of swapping panels. The bezel can be pain in the butt. I bought my panel off of ebay for 127 shipped, its an LG 200nit.

    ebay seller is laptopslcd.

    matheyed,

Is your system still under warranty? If so, then it is possible that it may be covered, depending on the nature of the crack. Where is the crack, and do you know how / when it occured?

Most broken LCDs results from some form of stress on the system, and are ruled as customer damage, especially when there is evidence of impact point, or damage to the case.

Congrats on your repair. As you cetainly know, care must be taken when removing the T61 bezel not to break off the clips.

    Best regards,

    Mark

If it's out of warranty, sell it for parts. If it's under warranty, try asking the service side. By broken I assume u mean it's cracked? If the damage isn't obvious as accidental damage, then they will cover it. If not I think they do fix it for a fee inclusive of part and service cost.
