    my T61 laptop is shipped from Hongkong and now in LOUISVILLE,
    KY, US for cleareance.

    I have one question: How can know where my laptop was made?

    Shanghai, Shengzhen or Hongkong?

    if it shipped from hong kong then that is where it was made. mine shipped from shengzhen

    of course it was made in China. isnt it where most of the laptop are made nowaday??

    Yeah, very few are made elsewhere. Some of the high end vaios are still made in japan.

    my sony sz660 was made in Japan, and I could see the difference in quality. hehehe

    Fujitsu Lifebooks are still made in Japan afaik.

    Yeah I had an s380p/b, made in japan, then an FS series made in china, huge gulf in quality- fit and finish, display, cool, quiet. Everything. But you also have to consider the best designs are made there, the budget designs are made in china- even if qc is higher in the japan facilities, the fact that they are different models account for alot of it.

    i too own a sony vaio that was built in japan..charging circuit stopped working after about 14 months.
