    Hi,

Silly question maybe , as I'm sure I'd found out something about it over here but I must ask :

Is it possible to manually install a Quadro FX750M in a T61 to make it a "T61P" , with some BIOS tweaks to make everything butter ? I'm oversimplifying things, but I hope you get my drift...I'm thinking of it like the Dell mods... Is it possible ? I'd love a WUXGA+ with a 570M !

Well I guess it could be possible but you would basically need to know how to build and wire a laptop to do it so in reality it is almost impossible.

But if you are looking to buy a laptop the T61p has a WUXGA option.

you could probably do it if you know what you are doing and manage to get your hands on the gpu, although you could save yourself the hassle by just buying a new t61p as they are really cheap with recent sales.

Keep in mind the GPU is soldered to the mobo.

I'm gonna say this loudly NO! YOU CANNOT UPGRADE THE GPU.

If you are asking the question if you can do this yourself, then you probably don't have enough experience to install a GPU. So I am going to say no too.

Impossible. It cannot be done. The graphics card/GPU option is a component part of the motherboard. You will have to acquire a whole new motherboard with that option and assume then it would fit in your specific chassis. It is by far the only option, let alone easier just to buy a T61p. You cannot mod the motherboard to add that GPU.

Pointing out his case after topic has been addressed make you look like an idiot. Me pointing out you pointing out his case makes me look like an idiot. What have we learned? We're all idiots. Now that we have reached enlightenment, let's move on and get back to the loving.
