    Hey all

    I am in need off a bigger hardrive, vill my T61 be ready for a 500gb 7200rpm
    sata 300, i have updatet bios.

    Yes, it vill. I have a 500GB hdd and it works fine. However if you'll want to use it as a secondary hdd (ultrabay), you may need to cap it's speed and set it to SATA I mode, 1.5... otherwise you may experience some unstable behaviour like not found or other similar symptom...

    I can see that you have a 500 gb harddrive in your laptop, is this config
    to 1,5 GB/s or 3,0 GB/s.

    platter hdd can't even saturate the SATAI limit yet, the SATAII is just a marketing gimmick to fool those who don't know better.

    3.0GB/s, but as other people have mentioned, it doesn't matter.. as long it's a regular hdd... it's not fast enough to require 3.0GB/s
