I was just curious to see if there were any hardware enhancements that the new T400s have over the T61 I have now. I am running Windows 7 64 Pro since July, and it is running pretty good. I have a few slowness problems here and there, but overall I am happy.
Does anyone know of any reason, besides the LED screen, that someone would want to upgrade from a t61 to a t400?
Here are my machine specs:
IBM Thinkpad T61 14w
Penryn Dual 2.5GHz
4GB RAM
WD Black 320GB 7200RPM
Intel WIFI 4965 AGN
1GB Intel Turbo Memory
Win7 64bit

T400 or T400s?

T410 is coming in January too btw. T400 has switchable graphics which weren't offered on the T61.

Not all T400s have touchscreen, it is an option for you if you want it.

It seems you have a nice running T61. T400 uses 25W TDP processors and very possibly run cooler than our T61. If you itch to replace your machine do it, but I'd say apart from the processor + screen there's nothing 'spectacular'. I'm actually waiting to get a USB 3.0 Thinkpad.
