The T61 is cheaper and I added some options that weren't available on the
t60. Should I be jumping on this deal? The IBM logo comes off and the prices are cheaper. Maybe the quality is cheaper too?
-
It must be the screen, widescreen is more abundant and cheaper.
-
I'm thinking I should have waited. If it were me, and I had not ordered my computer yet, I'd chance the T61 without hesitating.
BTW: how come the memory is not running at 800mhz? -

I don't think it's the screen either...I guess these santa rosa platforms are just cheaper. I configured a z61t with basically the same specs as above and that was like $100 more.
-
I just configured one T61 with almost the same specs as my T60, the price was just around $50 more. But turbo memory and web cam were included.
T61 seems even sweeter now. Will Lenovo give it a price increase on their 15'' T61? -

What to do?!?!?!? Cancel and go T61 or stick it out with the T60, can anyone compare the x1400 with the nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M -
I think the deals are just real good right now...Free upgrade on the screens.(wxga to wxga+) 50% off upgrades on ram. It's not extra for the fingerprint reader. I configured mine through a student discount, and if i'm not mistaken I can get another 5% off through fatwallet. I'm actually waiting for a lenovo sales rep to call me back with some questions I asked him, but I might make this buy later on today. One thing he did say was that they wouldn't even start producing these for another 3 to 4 weeks so I might not get if for a while.
-
I compared the T61 vs my T60 purchase which I saved $633 and the T61 is slightly cheaper vs T60 i'm getting because I ordered the 15.4" WSXGA+ screen which is very important to me. I have a 14.1" Dell and I like the larger screen size.
To a previous post the ATi X1400 128 meg video card should offer better performance in games because if i'm not mistaken the nVidia Quadro is similar to the new integrated Intel graphics. They are both intregrated and use shared memory. The only advantage is that they are DX10 ready but big deal really because it probably won't handle graphic intensive games.
So in the end I decided to stay with the T60 I have on order. -
I think the nVidia Quadro should be a discrete card.
-
how do u access the student discount?
-
you just search "ibm education" in google
the link title i think is ibm-education -
is there tax if u order from lenovo online in CA?

I noticed something today.
Earlier this morning, when T61 was just up and the Thinkpad Notebook picture on the right wasn't displaying, the price of the T61 was very cheap, around $1238.00 for a nicely configured system.
However, now when I reconfigure with the same specs, the price is now $1318.00. I also noticed that the $1238.00 price for specs was placed on the R61 models.
It seemed when they setup the sales, apparently they mixed the pricing between the T61 and R61. -
Dell has that too; when they plaze new promotion, the older are applies at the same time. (Only for a hour or something.)
