I just ordered a T61P right before midnight to get the discount coupon.

Since Ive never used or seen a notebook with 1680x1050 resolution Im kind of worried about the screen and the font being to small...
Ive had a macbook pro before and at 1440x900 the resolution was a bit on the small side for me.

Now my dilema is should I cancel the T61P and order a T61 with 1280x800 resolution?

My questions for the forum to finalize my decision to keep or change the order are:

1.) My eyesight is not the greatest, is 1680x1050 to small a resolution for reading documents and internet surfing?

2.) Do I have to change the resolution down constantly for the T61P if I want to game and get the best FPS? and if I change resolution for gaming, doesnt it look a little blurry since the native resolution has been changed?

3.) If I get the T61 at 1280x800 with the quadro 140m can I play all the recent games smoothly with eye candy turned down? (I like to play counter strike with at least 80fps) How is this card with sims, crysis, asassins creed?

Please dont advise for another notebook as I have my mind set for a lenovo! Thanks for any and all responses!

    LakerFan,

Don't worry about it. Just use CTRL++ for larger type whenever you need it for IE/Mozilla.

And, in gaming, you can choose between different resolutions....most looking great (refer to other threads for screen shots)

    Enjoy your Lenovo.

    1) it is small but i you can zoom in when surving the net cant you? personally i prefer 1440x900 for 15.4" screen.. IMO 1280x800 screen res is just a tad too small for my liking. minimum 1440x900.

    2) shouldn't be in fact, you get sort of an anti-aliasing effect going on, since lower resolution (like knock it down to 144x900 from the native 1680x1050) will smoothen out straight line..

    3) 80fps? can you even see that? i thought you can't see an improvements above 30. and the im pretty sure LCD display couldn't take that kind of FPS.
you shouldn't have any problem with the sims, at it relies more on the CPU, graphic card will allow you to turn shadows, reflection and smoothings.. crysis... maybe on the low low low settings... even a very powerful desktop computer 8800GTS/GTX has trouble maxing out all things if you want stable fast framerates.
