    Hello,
I am considering T61 or Z61t. My school recommend Z61t but T61 looks better in my personal view. What is the difference between thses two model? When I checked the Lenovo website, Z-series is not displayed. Only R, T, X series is there. Is this model disappearing in the market?

Before my final decision, I would like to hear a professional comment from this site. Thanks

The Z6x series was originally intended for multimedia purposes, and was the first ThinkPad to have a widescreen screen. Lenovo discontinued the Z series a little while back and incorporated many of its features into the T series found today (such as the aforementioned widescreen screen). Otherwise, the only really big difference is the fact that you can order the Z series with a titanium cover.

T61 also has newer technology, better screen protection, and better options for integrated graphics along with DX10 gpus.

Z61t is smaller and lighter then the T61 (I don't remember how much though). The cpu speed isn't exactly much slower then T61's Santa Rosa cpus clock for clock.

If your school isn't offering the Z61t's at dirt cheap prices then I would go with a T61.
