    T61 wide with 9cell possible?

    hello,

    I tried to configure a T61 WXGA+ 14' model on LENOVO Canada site, and the option of having a 9 cell battery has been removed. Despite of all my frustration, since I nearly pull the trigger of purchase, I clearly remembered that the option was still on back to several months ago.

    has anyone tried to buy a NEW T61 widescreen 14' model with 9cell battery? there's this rumor that the 9cell is uniquely offered on the standard 14'.

    any ideas?

    I'm about to buy a T61 14" wide myself. You'll have to get the battery seperately from the parts section. The model # is 40Y6797

    And if I'm wrong about this, someone please correct me, as I'm about to order this too.

    That is wrong. 40Y6797 is the nine cell for the 14" standard screen or the 15" T61 or R61. The correct part number is 43R2499.

    There is a 9 cell for the 14.1" Wide. I have one for my work PC. It sticks out like the 7 cell, but juts up a bit too. I'll try to find out the part number.

    So that battery won't work at all in the T61 14" wide? I don't get why it comes up when I search for T61 14" wide batteries on the Lenovo site then.

    Last I heard Lenovo was short on high-capacity batteries due to the fire at the LG plant.
