So I just noticed that the T61 14"W has the 64 GB SSD available on the Lenovo Canada site. The odd thing is that is $75 cheaper than the base 80 GB hard drive![]()
Aren't SSDs supposed to be much more expensive than conventional hard drives? Or is Lenovo using some low quality/slow SSD? Still, it seems like quite the deal.

Wow, I wish that option was there yesterday when I ordered my T61. I would have TRIED to hold them to it.
On the US site, right now, its an option, but it adds $772 to the cost. Thats almost more than my thinkpad cost. -
Hah, I think I'll give it a try since I was planning on ordering one today anyway.
-
Good luck with that man! It would be awesome if they honored the deal.
-
Just ordered it, hope I get it somehow lol
-
Lucky! I want a SSD!
-
Let us know if it goes through.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I bet it's a pricing mistake. 64 gb SSDs are like $900+.
-
I think he'll get it.
-
Yeah, it's definitely a pricing mistake. I'll be sure to let you guys know if I get it though.
-
I just bit the bullet and ordered.
7662CTO ThinkPad T61 with nVIDIA Graphics - 1 Year Depot Warranty $1,079.99 $1,079.99
*prays that Lenovo will honour price* -
Ha! You and the rest of the RFD crew ... pray that they honor it.
-
No luck with the SSD
They said it wasn't available on the T61 and that there was a mistake on their site.
Reordered with a regular hard drive. -
That sucks! It is actually available on the T61 though. They are cheap lol.
-
Ya, I thought so. I'm not surprised they didn't honour the price though, the SSD by itself costs $1320! More than the price of the laptop lol.
