After being a Toshiba, then a Dell guy for a long time, I have to say that the T61 seems to be a real nice machine!

I have the 100g 7200 rpm drive and that isn't going to be enough space. Any recent experience or recommendatons ? Are the Seagate 320 gb drives reliable ? Is there any weirdness I should know about the swap before diving in ?

I was thinking about the media bay, caddy approach however I actually need the DVD R/W often so that's a non-starter for me.

    Thanks, Mal

I bought a 250GB seagate a little while back and just used an apricorn USB notebook hard drive adapter and the included software (it was just a rebranded Acronis Trueimage) to transfer everything over. It handled the backup partition and everything perfectly. The only thing I did that was a little non-standard was I installed the new hard drive first and connected the original with the apricorn adapter. Then I just booted the software from CD and it made quick work of the conversion to the new drive. When it finished, the new drive was already installed so I was done.
