    Hi everybody,

I have a t61 and i would like to install Windows XP on the machine but when I launch windows xp install cd-rom, select "new install", he say he does not find the disk hard and i can't format. (it's like a protection on the hdd)
However in the bios the hard disk is found and I arrive to launch Windows Vista.

    Thank you :)

It's a problem with the SATA driver and is very complicated to solve. Basically, you have to copy the XP disc to your computer and modify it so that is supports your SATA controller.

If you set the drive to compatibility mode in the bios, it should see the drive.

Go into BIOS and set it.

Great info! Good find - sure beats slipstreaming the drivers onto a XP installation CD.

    :)
