    Hello,

I found one laptop on ebay that says 2DIMM next to the ram

Does this mean there is no place to add one more GB for total of 4GB ?

If it's 3GB 2-DIMM its a 1GB DIMM and a 2GB DIMM. For as much as RAM costs these days, the 1GB DIMM is worth about $20 and would be sacrificial if you wanted to replace it with a $65 2GB DIMM. I've managed to unload three 1GB DIMMS to friends :)

On the other hand, there would be no reason to do that, unless you plan to install VIsta64, which can utilize the 4gb. Otherwise, 3gb is the optimal configuration for any 32 bit OS.

Theoretically, though, and I'm still looking for definitive proof that onboard video can borrow memory beyond the 3GB barrier instead of robbing from memory that the 32bit OS can use. I've seen a few posts that suggest this, but I've not found any technical writeups on this from Intel or Lenovo. I plan on dual booting 64bit Linux on my machine, thus the config in my sig.
