    Hi,

I'm having trouble getting my T61P to start up. When I hit the power button to turn it on I get nothing on the screen. Shortly after I hear a series of beeps - one long one followed by two quick ones. Nothing happens afterwards.

    Anybody know what that means?

I hadn't made any major configuration changes recently. The only thing I can think of that I did out of the ordinary was I enabled Windows Firewall last night after not ever using it.

I put the computer in standby after I was done using it last night. This morning I hit the 'FN' key to wake it up. I got nothing on the screen so I held the power button down for four seconds to turn it off. Pressed the power button again and that's when I got what I wrote about in the beginning...

I would try removing sticks of RAM to see if it will boot with any of them. If that doesn't work, you might try booting with no RAM installed (should at least get a POST screen, right?)

If neither of those ideas work, there's still a chance that the LCD ribbon connector came loose inside. If it's out of warranty, you might try re-seating the ribbon. Otherwise, and if you can't readily determine if the ribbon is connected firmly or not, you'll probably have to send it in for repair on the LCD or system board.
