Last spring I purshased a T61P, it is under a 3yr warranty which includes accidental coverage. This morning while playing a game, the screen suddenly went blank and the system crashed. The system now will not charge, boot-up, or respond in any way.

a). Is this a common problem?
b). I checked out the website and quickly became confused about what steps to take to get my notebook repaired.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been browsing around the lenovo site, and I can't seem to find a phone number to call for tech support.

I did find a list of "lenovo service providers" near me. Can they do repairs?

i've written about this a short while ago, it seems that many T61p having this issues, my guess is that the Nvidia GPU (google: Nvidia GPU defect) that is affecting 8400 and 8600 (some says it goes back to 6-series right through 9-series card). in any case, your GPU FX570m, is based on 8600m gt, which is affected.

the system went crash while playing game or just idling is consistent with this, even while booting up, because the display is connnected through the graphic card. not sure if the; "system wont boot up", or "system would note charge" is part of the symptom though.

contact lenovo, if it is still within warranty; good. tell them about the nvidia gpu defect, and ask for replacement to W500.

if its not within warranty, tell the about nvidia gpu defect and ask for replacement anyway.
