I was trying to create my recovery discs this morning but was unable to write to DVD-R discs. Device manager tells me an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7910A ATA Device is installed. I would have thought this device could write DVDs?

The Vista Recovery disc backup software is telling me that the DVD needs to be formatted but that the format fails. The Lenovo Restore/Recovery progam also fails to write to DVDs.

I was going to write to CDs instead but first wanted to check here if I'm doing anything wrong?

Well, the Recovery Backup burning software that comes with your T-Pad burns the first disk as a CD, you can use DVDs for the rest - takes 2 DVDs.
