When I'm in battery only mode sometimes my LCD just turns off and right back on again, whilst this happens I cannot type or move things around, so it seems like a driver issue and not an LCD issue.

    Any help?

Do you have the latest display drivers?

Yes I just installed the latest drivers and the problem still exists.

    Any ideas from anyone?

Check the power management settings for running on batteries. Also check the screen saver timeout.

It's not like a normal "it's time to turn off now because it's been 20 minutes".

I could be watching a video and in 2 minutes the screen would go off and on again, then my video would be screwed up, only for the screen to go off and on again in 10 seconds and my video working again.

It's kinda like a CRT that goes on and off because of resolution changes, except that this seems like software. Because when it comes back on, it renders everything again and doesn't just "accept" the data from the computer, but that the driver has to re-render.

My t61 (winxp) does this too, when the power manager is set to "Power Source Optimized". If i change the power scheme to "Video Playback" it does NOT happen.
